He has led financial due diligence of banks for investment, authored studies on oil palm replanting, and developed credit scoring tools to support smallholder access to finance. Hans also works closely with legal and financial institutions to design compliant funding structures and build robust pipelines for blended finance programs that integrate environmental, social, and economic outcomes.

Adrian’s work bridges private sector needs with sustainable practices, making him a leader in driving impactful change in commodity-based industries.
Muhammad Tohirin
Muhammad TohirinChief Operations Officer (COO)
Tohirin is a seasoned field practitioner with more than a decade of experience in smallholder capacity building, sustainable agriculture, and certification systems. He began his career as an agricultural trainer and played a key role in the training of more than 6,000 smallholders in Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) under a national program. Early in his career, he was also involved in facilitating the first ISCC certification in Indonesia, marking an important milestone for sustainable palm oil practices.
Since 2021, Tohirin has been a core part of the Abler Nordic Climate Smart Fund, where he has led field operations across multiple regions in Indonesia. He has overseen the training of more than 4,000 farmers, facilitated RSPO certification for five cooperatives and ISPO certification for two others, and supported the implementation of traceability systems and land titling processes for over 400 farmers.

With his hands-on expertise in participatory training, farmer engagement, and certification implementation, Tohirin is widely recognized as a trusted field leader in advancing community-based climate-smart agriculture.

Dr. Roberto Akyuwen is a respected expert in Indonesia’s financial sector, with over 25 years of experience in banking supervision, financial inclusion, and economic policy. He has held senior roles at the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Ministry of Finance, and BRI, and contributed to regulatory transformation across Indonesia’s financial institutions. A prolific author and educator, Roberto provides strategic insight into microfinance, digital banking, and blended finance for inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
Dr. Herdradjat Natawidjaja
Dr. Herdradjat NatawidjajaSenior Policy Advisor – Agriculture
Dr. Herdradjat Natawidjaja is an expert in sustainable agricultural development and regulatory policy, with over 30 years of experience in Indonesia’s agricultural sector. He has held multiple leadership positions within the Ministry of Agriculture, including Director roles in Plant Protection, Agribusiness Development, and Perennial Crops. Dr. Natawidjaja was instrumental in the development of the Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) system and remains closely involved as an expert advisor. His work spans national policy formulation, donor engagement, and palm oil sector governance, with a focus on aligning smallholder production with sustainability standards.
He holds a Ph.D. in Plant Pathology from the University of the Philippines Los Baños and an M.Sc. from Ghent University, Belgium.
Currently, he serves on the ISPO Committee Secretariat and advises on agricultural finance and policy for inclusive rural development

Gitafajar Saptyani brings over 20 years of experience in climate policy, stakeholder engagement, and sustainable infrastructure development. She has led high-impact programs in renewable energy, climate finance, and low-carbon urban transport, working closely with Indonesian ministries, provincial governments, and international donors. Her contributions include the successful deployment of Jakarta’s first 100 e-bus fleet under the C40 Cities Finance Facility, and the management of renewable energy programs at GGGI and GIZ. Gitafajar specializes in policy design, multilateral coordination, and advancing Indonesia’s energy transition and climate resilience agenda.
Irianto Kusumadjaja

Irianto Kusumadjaja is a seasoned expert in banking systems, credit risk scoring, and rural financial access, with over 25 years of experience across commercial banking, technology, and regulatory advisory. He has played a key role in enabling smallholder farmers in Indonesia to access formal financial services by developing systems that assess credit eligibility and support loan origination. Through his technology ventures, Irianto has advised banks, cooperatives, and MFIs on digital infrastructure, data-driven credit scoring, and operational compliance. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from the Institute of Information and Technology, Indonesia.
Stephen KrecikSenior Advisor – Forestry and Conservation
Stephen Krecik brings over 30 years of experience in sustainable commodities production, forestry, and biodiversity conservation. His expertise spans policy development, market systems, traceability, and certification in palm oil, coffee, rubber, and other land-based commodities. Stephen has worked with WWF, SNV, UNDP, and others to bridge research, business practices, and environmental goals across Southeast Asia. His approach combines scientific research with private-sector engagement to improve land use governance and responsible sourcing at scale.
Richard McNallySenior Advisor – Climate Finance
Richard McNally is an accomplished expert in climate finance and blended investment solutions, with over 20 years of leadership experience spanning Asia and Africa. He has shaped strategy and delivered more than 20 climate and investment funds with international organizations including the World Bank, FAO, UNDP, DFID, SNV, and WWF. Based in Southeast Asia for over 14 years, Richard brings deep regional insight into sustainable supply chains and climate-aligned finance. He currently serves as an International Sectoral Expert for the Green Climate Fund and is a member of the World Bank’s Forest Carbon Partnership Facility Technical Advisory Panel. Richard holds a Master’s in Ecological Economics from the University of Edinburgh and a Bachelor’s in Mathematics from the University of Sussex.

Mei-Mei van Dorth is a seasoned professional with a strong background in sustainable commodity production, smallholder finance, and landscape-level partnerships. She has worked extensively across Southeast Asia with organizations such as Solidaridad, Meridia Land, and Financial Access, designing and implementing inclusive financial models that incentivize sustainable palm oil production and forest protection. Her expertise spans agrifinance, stakeholder engagement, and project management, with a strong focus on aligning private sector strategies with smallholder needs. Mei-Mei brings valuable experience in land mapping, traceability, and sustainable sourcing strategies for major commodity buyers and donors alike.

Antonius has over 15 years of experience working with cooperatives and microfinance institutions across Indonesia. His expertise includes loan portfolio development, collection strategies, and institutional strengthening. Muhammad Ismi Pirdaus
Muhammad Ismi PirdausGIS and Peatland Restoration Specialist
Muhammad Ismi Pirdaus is a GIS and peatland landscape specialist with deep experience in participatory mapping, spatial analysis, and peatland restoration across Sumatra. With a background in agricultural sciences and a Master’s in Environmental Science, he has led or supported GIS-based components for restoration projects with WWF, BRGM, IFAD, and other partners. Ismi has worked directly with communities to support village-level peatland monitoring, canal blocking interventions, and land use planning, and is experienced with tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and RTK GPS systems.

Nasrulloh is a community development and sustainable agriculture specialist with nearly a decade of experience in farmer engagement, rural finance, and agri-input systems. He has supported smallholders across Indonesia through roles at Daemeter and Koltiva, where he facilitated sustainable palm oil field schools, conducted socio-economic surveys, and managed agri-input loan distribution. As Loan Officer at Plan B, Nasrulloh plays a vital role in expanding smallholder access to responsible financial products and strengthening inclusive agricultural supply chains.

Dr. Fakhrizal Nashr brings 15 years of experience in agri-value chains and conservation, specializing in strategic planning and fostering collaboration among private sectors, communities, and governments. His expertise includes village mapping, conflict resolution, and developing sustainable regional development programs. Fakhrizal has led transformative projects in commodities like cocoa, vanilla, and palm oil, contributing to socially inclusive and environmentally sustainable practices.

Sanjay Madnani is a creative learning design expert with over 25 years of experience translating complex ideas into engaging visual and educational content. Sanjay supports PlanB in the development of farmer training materials and visual storytelling for sustainable agriculture, cooperative development, and biodiversity education. His design approach is rooted in human-centered communication, using a wide range of media to support behaviour change and accessible learning. His work has been central to the success of the Climate Smart Fund’s farmer training tools and other outreach initiatives.

Puteri DamayantiMaster Trainer and Certification Lead
Puteri Damayanti is an expert in replanting and certification processes, with extensive experience in training and empowering independent smallholder farmers. She has successfully led training programs on sustainable practices and facilitated certification under RSPO, ISPO, and ISCC standards. Puteri’s work focuses on building capacity within cooperatives and ensuring compliance with global sustainability benchmarks, driving both environmental conservation and economic growth.
Heni Erawati
Heni ErawatiSite Manager – East Kalimantan
Heni Erawati leads PlanB’s field operations in East Kalimantan, managing a multi-stakeholder program to promote sustainable palm oil production among independent smallholders. With a background in governance and public policy, she brings strong experience in bridging institutional frameworks with field-level implementation.

Since joining PlanB in 2021, Heni has coordinated the training of over 2,000 farmers across Kembang Janggut and Tabang sub-districts, guiding them through best management practices, sustainability compliance, and cooperative strengthening. Her leadership has directly contributed to RSPO certification of over 500 farmers. In addition to agronomic support, she plays a key role in onboarding farmers into loan schemes and traceability systems, while also assisting over 400 farmers in the land titling process through BPN.

Heni’s trusted relationship with local communities and government stakeholders makes her an integral part of PlanB’s strategy to scale inclusive, verified deforestation-free supply chains in East Kalimantan.

Azmi Zulkarnain
Azmi ZulkarnainResearch and Communications Associate – Sustainability and Livelihoods
Azmi Zulkarnain is a development practitioner and communications specialist with a background in anthropology and sustainable development. She brings a cross-disciplinary perspective to projects focused on rural livelihoods, participatory research, and environmental governance. Azmi has been involved in various initiatives across Indonesia that address community engagement, indigenous knowledge systems, and alternative development pathways, including fieldwork on topics such as customary land rights, food security, and socio-ecological resilience.

Azmi has worked with institutions such as Universitas Gadjah Mada and the University of Amsterdam, contributing to research on global capital flows, gendered vulnerability, and land governance. Her field experience spans Kalimantan, Papua, and Java, where she has worked closely with NGOs, academic teams, and community stakeholders to promote inclusive, evidence-based approaches to sustainable land use.

At PlanB, Azmi supports both research and implementation. She plays a key role in developing learning and communications materials for field teams and project partners. Additionally, she supports the onboarding and administration of smallholder loans, and assists farmers in securing legal land titles from the National Land Agency (BPN), helping to strengthen tenure security and access to finance.

Nur Nashuhah
Nur NashuhahField Trainer and Community Engagement Specialist
Nur Nashuhah is a skilled community facilitator and trainer with a background in international relations and over two years of experience working directly with independent oil palm smallholders. She has coordinated village-level activities across East Kalimantan under the Abler Nordic Climate Smart Fund, where she supported the delivery of Best Management Practice (BMP) training to more than 1,200 farmers in Kutai Kartanegara.

With strong communication and coordination skills, Nur has acted as a bridge between communities, cooperatives, and local government. Her work emphasizes participatory training, data collection, and awareness-building around sustainable palm oil practices. She brings a high level of integrity, attention to detail, and cultural sensitivity to field-based projects, particularly those that require inclusive facilitation and gender-balanced outreach.

Nur holds a degree in International Relations from Universitas Muhammadiyah Kalimantan Timur, where she graduated as the top student in her program. She has participated in national-level youth and academic forums, and previously worked with the East Kalimantan Provincial Investment Agency (DPMPTSP), where she contributed to investment promotion and regional cooperation initiatives
